Locales
Kaledor is an expansive and varied land, and as such so are the many settlements found within it. From the mountainous, desert plateaus of Rothwall to the lush forests of Auldarbor, no two places are quite the same, and many of them have a long history to complement their colorful cultures.
The North
After the humans, elves, dwarves, and their allies were defeated by the Black Talon hordes, the once untamed jungles and swamps of the north and the mysterious Midnight Isles became the heart of Tybald's empire. As such, new settlements have sprung up along the coast to bring supplies to the new capitol.
Darkmoon Citadel
After the religious civil war that split the elves from the drow, the dark elves made their home in the rainforests known as the Lostland Jungles. Darkmoon Citadel serves as their capitol, and there they have continued savage traditions beneath the shadows of the thick jungle canopy.
Midnight Isle
Shrouded in mists that seem impervious to wind and storm, the Midnight Isle has not been visited by members of civilization for thousands of years. Many ancient tales speak of it as the origins of evil, where gateways to demonic realms yield unthinkable horrors. It is on this island that Emperor Tybald has made his home. He does nothing to soften its reputation, preserving its mystery by restricting all but his closest allies from visitation. Even those of Tybald's inner circle who have been there speak of it with a sense of constant disorientation, as though the mists clouded their minds as well as their vision.
Mirewatch
Poised high above the damp, muddy expanse of the Downpour Marshes is a fortress anchored to the mountains that rise up at the southern edge of the swamp. A clear day allows the garrison of Black Talon soldiers a view that extends all the way to the northern coastline.
